A beach trip is the epitome of summer. Vacations at the beach are traditional for many families, but they're also ideal for trips with friends, solo excursions, or even romantic getaways. There is a perfect beach for you whether you want to surf or get into snorkeling or maybe you just want to stay on the shore, relaxing in the sand. Fortunately, you can have a fantastic vacation without breaking the bank. We've compiled a list of inexpensive beach vacations in the United States and all over the globe so you can enjoy the surf and sand without breaking the bank.

Panama

Panama is a great option if you want an exotic beach experience without having to spend too much. It's more affordable than most tropical locations, and if you visit when it's the off-season, you're privy to huge deals on hotels and flights.

When you're in the area, make sure to pass through the historic Panama Canal and the Miraflores Visitor Center, with its great view of ships passing. (It also has a four-story museum). Take a gander around the Vasco Viejo district, which has a rich history dating back to the 17th century. Recently, it's been a hub of local shops, wine bars, historic churches, and exquisite restaurants.

Gold Beach, Oregon

There are a lot more popular beach destinations in Oregon. A good example is Cannon beach; however, such beaches are usually expensive. We have a way out for you, though. Gold Beach is not so well known and is an affordable alternative. The city is known for tide-pooling, ocean laying, fishing and jet boat tours, and even secluded beaches. Between March and May, you can catch glimpses of pods of migrating gray whales going toward the north.

Sayulita, Mexico

Instead of Cancun, Cabo, or any other famous Mexican vacation spot, take a look at Sayulita, a more relaxed and cheaper destination. Nestled right on Mexico's west coast, close to Puerto Vallarta, this city is known for surfing. However, you don't need to surf to get a wholesome experience. You can relax on its beautiful beaches like Carricitos, Playa De Los Muertos, La Lancha, and Sayulita beach.

Numerous shops for exploration are in the area, from clothing stores like Revolucion del Sueno to galleries (Evoke the Spirit is a good option) to surf shops.

Islamorada, Florida

Islamorada is a Village nestled in the Florida Keys. It has a lot to offer its tourists while ensuring they get value for their money. It's a much more affordable alternative to known islands like Key West, yet it offers a similar experience.

Here, you can take a gander around the Indian Key Historic State Park, which is about 11 acres. At the Park, you can see a shipwreck that remains on display, which dates back to the 19th century. The Windley Key Fossil Reef Geological Park is also a great spot as it has self-guided trails that go under the mangrove forests and an exposed coral reef.

Palawan Island, Philippines

Palawan island is full of many tropical activities: scuba diving in Bacuit bay, jungle walks, parasailing, or even booking a cave spelunking tour.

If you go a bit northward, you can visit El Nido's elegant beaches and ride to Honda Bay, where you can hop from place to place. Although flight tickets to the Philippines tend to be a bit more pricey, activities, food, and hotels are very affordable upon arrival.

Myrtle Beach, South Carolina

Myrtle beach is a beach town perfect for family activities, with a vibrant and fun downtown just waiting to be explored. With over 50 different themed mini-golf courses in the region, it's dubbed the mini-golf capital of the world. Shopping is also a great idea if it's done at the Hudson's Surfside Flea Market. For something more romantic, you can charter Enchantress ( a 44-foot boat). Take her on a lovely ride to explore various restaurants and shops in Market Common or visit the La Belle Amie Vineyard.

Lauderdale-by-the-Sea, Florida

Of course, Palm Beach, Fort Lauderdale, and Miami are the more popular Florida destinations. However, there's a far more affordable, lesser-known option for you. Hidden right on the east coast of Florida, between Pompano Beach and Fort Lauderdale, visiting here makes you feel like you've taken a step back in time.

While you are there, it's a good idea to take a walk down to the pier through the beach's pavilion. You get to stroll through Anglin's Square, known for its many bars, gelato shops, cafes, and restaurants.

Corfu, Greece

Even though Greece can generally be quite expensive if you're visiting, Corfu is a small town that's quite affordable as compared to other well-known islands. While you're there, explore the winding streets and alleyways of the Old Town and visit the Archaeological Museum. Casa Parlante is also a great museum. It's a reconfigured mansion that has roots back to the 1800s. Another great place worthy of a visit is Achilleion, an ancient palace converted into a museum with a striking painting of Hector being pulled out from his chariot by Achilles.

Patong, Thailand

Thailand isn't generally an expensive place to visit, and the vibrant Phuket island is a beautiful destination for tourists who want a bit of fun nightlife on their beach vacation. You can take a long dip in the calm waters while it's daytime or relax on the beautiful sands on the beach, and when it's nighttime, you can take a walk to explore the lively city scene.

Tybee Island, Georgia

Tybee island is just about a 20-minute drive from the more popular downtown Savannah; however, it's way more inexpensive. The island has a 3-mile radius-long beach with five different beaches. The mid beach is great for shark teeth and seashell hunting. The North Beach is perfect for ship and bird watching. South Beach is one of, if not the busiest area with dolphin-watching and volleyball. Meanwhile, the back river gives a more secluded feel with an astonishing view of Little Tybee and a fishing pier. You can also find lots of playgrounds, hiking trails, and free parks.
